Dr. Palmyra De Banks

Dr Palmyra De Banks is an experienced General Practitioner and healthcare leader with over 25 years in clinical practice spanning public hospitals (NHS), general practice, private and urgent care settings, She is a graduate of the University of London (MBBS 1999), she completed GP training in the UK in 2006 and relocated to Australia in 2012.


Dr De Banks is currently a Clinical Director and Head of Performance for a large GP corporate, and in this capacity, she leads clinical governance across multiple sites and supports the professional development of hundreds of GPs. She works as a GP in Carlton, Melbourne. 


She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds a suite of advanced qualifications including a Masters of Medical and Healthcare Law at the University of Melbourne and she is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She contributes expert legal and ethical insights to healthcare governance 


Dr De Banks has a longstanding commitment to advocacy and leadership: she has served on the RACGP Victoria Council, the IMG Committee, the MIGA Medical Advisory Panel, Medical Panels, and as a board member of Eating Disorders Families Australia  Her clinical interests include women’s health, maternity, shared care, chronic pain, AOD, medicinal cannabis, and family medicine.
